Austin C. Speier

Austin C. Speier is Managing Director, Innovative Healthcare Products, at Becker Consulting.  Mr. Speier’s activities include designing and executing development and to-market strategies, analysis of critical scientific, clinical and regulatory issues, identifying optimal regulatory pathways and designing and assessing preclinical and clinical programs.  He has extensive experience in drafting regulatory submissions, supporting FDA meetings and Advisory Panels, developing postmarketing product stewardship programs, conducting due diligence for investments and acquisitions, performing critical reviews of scientific data and regulatory literature, preparing scientific reports on health-related topics, and providing direct support to client management teams.  As a Managing Director, he is also responsible for preparing a project plan, forming and managing the project team, managing the timeline and budget of the project, updating the client on a regular basis, and assuring the quality of final work products.  His experience spans a full range of product categories and therapeutic areas, and includes work with numerous cardiovascular, aesthetic, wound care, gastroenterology, oncology, drug delivery, women’s health and consumer products.  Mr. Speier also regularly works to support the startup, venture capital, and investor services provided by the firm’s sister companies, Becker Venture Services Group, LLC and Samson Venture Partners, LLC.

Mr. Speier previously conducted research at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital Center for Neurodegeneration and Disease, where he focused on characterizing the molecular and cellular pathology of Alzheimer’s Disease.  He holds an AB cum laude in Biology from Harvard College, where he also completed the interdisciplinary Honors Neurobiology program to receive a certificate in Mind, Brain and Behavior Studies.
